So I was replacing both my upstream sensors today. The driver side connector came apart no problem. I went to the passenger side, where it's really tight, and slipped while trying to disconnect the connection between the OS sensor and the harness side connector.
I gave it a little to much tug when I slipped and the harness side connector dropped. Looks like all the wires are intact. My question is, it looks like there's a white plastic push pin, to mount it somewhere. Are the harness side connector s mounted to the frame with a push pin? Or did I just completely screw myself? Lol If it was mounted to the frame or something else can I just use a zip tie to remount it?
Sorry I don't have any photos. Too dark now, but happy to post some of the harness side connector, in it's current state, in the morning.
Thanks in advance for any help! Please put my mind at ease.
So it turned out that the nyloc "Christmas tree" rivet that attaches to the wiring harness retainer broke off. I zip tied it to the retainer and both 02 sensors are changed.
Now off to ice my hand, from fitting it between the transmission and catalytic converter, to attach the connector. A little swollen right now!
Having done it twice in 225k mi on my '04, you did pretty damn good to even get a zip tie in there. Congrats on a job well done.
Lol thanks. I wasn't blessed with good looks, but instead; long arms, skinny wrists and long fingers. I have to admit my hand was swollen for two days afterwards due to the pressure of the transmission and catalytic converter squeezing it.
