Interesting.. doesn't look like the use the 12 pin connector.. they use their own, and give you a adapter harness that plugs into the harness by the spare tire.
Subscribed. Thanks for the links. I had hoped someone would come out with a less expensive after-market camera. Not a huge price difference, but I like the option of different cable lengths. Yet one more item to add to the wish list.
The wording almost seems like you need the 360 camera system already to use this camera.
I believe you are correct and this camera would require the “Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System” (option #874 – which I ordered). But that option does not include the trailer camera (which I did not order). The trailer camera is a separate option under either the “Individual Trailer TPMS/Trailer Camera Prep Kit” ($725 option #653) or just the “Trailer Camera Prep Kit” ($375 option #65B). So the question I’m going to have to answer is whether saving $126 for a non-OEM trailer camera is worth it. And I'm also not sure I want to be a beta tester.

I did not order the ultimate camera system on my 2017 F350 Lariat. Wish I did. Is there anyway to add this after receiving delivery of the truck?
I wish I had ordered it too. On my truck it was only a $460 adder. I would think difficult to add as cameras need to be add to both exterior mirrors, grill, center high brake light, etc
I did some searches for 360 OEM 360 camera system add-on and found nada. Probably for good reason. But just for reference, here are the links to Fords trailer camera setup. And those pages do indicate that the Ultimate Trailer Camera Tow System (874) is required
I doubt I will ever get a 35' trailer, so I'm not thrilled with having to deal with 49' of (what appears to be) very heavy guage cam cable with the Ford unit. The option of custom cable lengths of the Camera-Source cam seems to be a plus. But as a hedge, I think I will check with them to see if I could get just the cables, if needed.

can anyone with experience tell me if the rear camera on this package ( the camera on the trailer)only works when backing up, or can it be set to run at all times?
