Has anyone else looked in to this? I want to add it but want it to work just like the factory trucks that have it. I assume the Sync 3 is universal connectivity and the trucks harness must have the lines as default already run?
I guess it's theoretically possible to retrofit, by buying all the cameras, all the mounting brackets, all the body parts, all the wiring, the internal components, etc... and then having the whole system re-programmed. I have no idea how much it would actually take, as I have no idea what your truck already has in place.
But I'd assume it'd probably be cheaper in the long run to take whatever hit in depreciation you might have on your existing truck, and just go order a new one with the 360.

Thanks. Its a new 2018 F350 with 3600 miles fully loaded the only option it didnt have was the cameras. Trading it in for the camera isnt going to happen lol

the mirror cams will be the most expensive I suspect..
I wouldn't be too sure on the harnesses.. the aux trailer cam rear harness (connector above the spare tire on rear side of cross member) only comes when the truck has the 360 view component.
Look at Camera Source. They offer plug and play kits that use your Sync 3 in dash Nav screen. I had one of their Kits installed on my 16', very satisfied.

Thank you will take a look.
When you say plug and play, I assume you mean the camera hook up to the factory sync 3 screen?
Was the trucks harness connections that are required present in the truck already when you setup yours?
Thank you. I test drove a 2019 Platinum with the system before I purchased mine, interesting to know thanks!
One thing I didnt like was how when you get real close to a car or object on the sides it warps the view of them a bit almost like a blurred fish eye.
yeh, its a software constructed view from multiple cameras,,
i have the NavTV (360 view) module that allows me to look at any camera at any time... AND it enables the side camera views on left/right (which show the poor view at night) https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT910/cod-f53.html
we had a discount for a while.. don't know if it still exists or would work with the camera-source addon

Hopefully I can get this sorted out for my truck still waiting to here back from Ford. I posted here because I figured there many like me that want to add the camera's or even better have already
the ford mirror cameras depend on good lighting... at night they are very grainy...
Plus 1 on this. The cameras are crap at night compared to my Chevy Silverado work truck and the wife's 4Runner. They do get the job done though, just go slow.
Any updates on anyone successfully adding this system? I'll be towing a 41' fifth wheel with a 2017 F350SD Lariat and really wish it had the full camera system. Currently, all it has is the backup camera but I'd love to be able to mount a camera on the back of the trailer.

do you have the 360 camera system? required for the Ford trailer camera..
Thanks for the link! No, I don't have anything on the truck other than the backup camera. Would love to be able to add any system that will help with changing lanes while towing this 41' beast of a fifth wheel!
