Yeah if mine was home I'd just measure it to make sure it's listed as one to fit 73-79 but it still says measure, I'm gunna ditch the mechanical fan for the electric ones
thanks

i dident measure... i just trusted em... fit perfectly untill i decided to use my mechanical fan...
them electric ones that come w/ it are cheesy and garbage!
flimsy plastic zip ties... no regulator on the fans they just run all the time...
not much of a lifespan ither...

The Standard/Xtra Cooling and A/C radiators are approx. 26 1/4" wide x 19 3/4" high.

The Super Cooling radiator is approx. 26 1/4" wide x 24 11/16" high.

If your truck is a 1978/79 with rectangular headlamps, there is only one radiator support, so all these radiators will fit, but...

If your truck is a 1973/78 with round headlamps, there are TWO different radiator supports.

The radiator support for the Super Cooling radiator has a larger opening radius.

I'd like to know if that radiator worked out as well. I'm looking for a new one too.

"NumberDummy" is correct! First measure the rad support opening to see what actually fits. Then make sure you get the correct shroud and you'll be all set. I took his advice and everything fit like a glove!

Not so fast , "the correct shroud" ? Don't you mean correct rad. ?
From every truck I have ever seen, the rad mounting changed for '78. '78-'79 all had direct bolt to rad to support. '77 and back there was a plate spot welded to the rad support on each side that the rad. bolted to regardless of the motor. Weather or not the rads. were the same ? I'll say this "it mattered when I ordered my Super Cooler".

The super cooler in my 77 mounts differently than the super coolers in my 78 and 79. But, you also need the correct shroud. Dennis Carpenter makes them and you'll need the stamping number off the corner to get the correct shroud

My '74 f100 had the radiator bolted directly to the support with the "clip on" nut things that you find on sheet metal (I'm sure they have a proper name). The core support had the smaller opening but the holes for bolts and a rib stamped for strength on the driver's side at width for the larger opening. I wanted as much radiator as would fit and liked the looks and reviews on the champion. A 2 inch hole saw at the corners and a cut off wheel fixed the opening, it was very evident where the cuts we're needed. I read up on fiberglass forming, made my form with 3/4 inch insulation board, stretched an old tee shirt over it to form the shape and glassed it up.

Never say never with Ford.
I think they are called speed clips.
