What width wheel do you plan to run? The width of the wheel and the backspacing will determine the tire centerline.
What backspacing that works with a 15 or 16 wheel will work with a 17 wheel. The wheels won't hit anything, what you need to watch ourt for is the tires hitting the radius arm.
15x8 with 35x12.5 4.5 backspacing hit my factory radius arms on my bronco. I have since built arms that are bent to clear the tires.

I have 18x9 with 5" backspace and 35" tires. They sit even with the fenders and don't hit anything. I couldn't have asked for a better fit.

I don't see why it would be different.
Think about where the leafs run and where the radius arms run.
