Tailgate problems
Hey guys I'm new to the Forum. I don't know if this has been discussed yet and I can't find it if it has. I just picked up a 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat. The tailgate works great with the key fob but the black button to open it on the back of the truck will not work. I've replaced the batteries in the key fob and I've made sure that it is within 3 feet of the tailgate like the manual says. It's almost like it's permanently locked? Is anybody had similar experiences? Is it a proximity sensor or maybe the button itself that could have gone bad? Any help is greatly appreciated

You're saying that the key fob works but the button on the gate doesn't? If the truck is unlocked, the button on the gate should work even if you don't have the remote on you otherwise no. If that's the case then suspect the button or wiring. If it won't unlock when the truck is locked and you DO have the remote on you then I would suspect the prox sensor.

If you have the fob on you and the doors are locked the tailgate should unlock.
I would recommend replacing the fob battery. My truck acted funny well before the low battery warning when the FOB was dying.
