Does anyone have information regarding improvement to the headlights over 2017 model ? Hoping that since NHTSA began including lighting in safety ratings Ford upped their game.

This is such a non issue and the lighting is fine. If it wasn`t, the vehicles could not be sold to the public.
What NHTSA said about the headlights on a Ford, they also said the same thing about every manufacturer out there.
As long as the vehicle meets DOT regulations then that`s what the OEM`s use.

Obviously you have never driven a Honda Ridgeline at night....or read what NHTSA had to say about it's headlights. I've done both. You don't know what you don't know.
For those that value seeing at night the top of line Honda "truck" is light years ahead of anything I've ever seen driving at night and even about twice as good as the wife's Subaru Outback which also got great ratings. Frankly, I can't figure how Honda is able to illuminate the entire road including the woods to each side without oncoming drivers being blinded but not one car flashed me in a long night test drive. The Honda's low beams were better than my current rides high beams.
Once you see what is possible you won't be happy with anything else.
I do think that ford is really dropping the ball on this one. 55k for a xlt with halogens? Come on ford even **** box chevys have leds on there wt trucks.

You are correct, i`ve never driven a Honda Ridgeline and have no desire to because in my opinion, it`s not in the same class a full size pick up trucks.
With that being said, the lighting in my 2016 Lariat with the quad beam LED headlights and 2017 SD LED fog lights are awesome and work very well for me with lighting up the road in front and outward plus the automatic high beams work great.
As I said in my first reply, this is a non issue for the vast majority of pickup truck owners and for the ones who want more lighting, they`ll either do a bulb upgrade or they`ll do a housing upgrade.

I agree.
Ford should at least make the quad beam LED headlights an option on the XLT`s and the lower trim Lariat`s instead of forcing people to jump up to a Lariat with the 502A.
Since that`s not going to happen and they continued this on the 2018`s, they should have the quad beam LED`s as a kit in the Ford Accessories, priced accordingly with proper installation instructions or dealer installed.
They would totally destroy the aftermarket replacement housing kit market.
.gov tested ALL the F-150 headlights---none got above a poor rating. The Ridgeline headlights are not something aftermarket bulbs can match---it's in the reflectors tech too. Certainly Ford has engineers that can duplicate this if they cared enough.
I bet in two years ALL cars from ALL manufactures will be harping on this you watch. If you have not experienced it you just don't know how good it is.
I personally can't stand driving towards any vehicle that has either HID or LED lights. They are too freakin' bright and not aimed correctly either IMO. I have no problem with the headlights on my poor XLT........

Well, it`s obvious you`re a fan of the Ridgeline as well as Subaru`s and I never said that aftermarket bulbs can match an OEM setup.
With that being said, I see no reason for you being on this or any F150 forum praising how good the headlights are on the Honda Ridgeline because i`m willing to bet that no one on here cares.
Kinda like when the Canucks mandated Daytime Running Lights and then Generic Motors started making them for here in this Country
They SUCKED (but, that's Generic Motors for you). There's already enough glare on the road. Ultra powerful Head Lights just blind the person driving toward you..... Dangerously so.
Then there's the people that insist on turning on their Headlights during the day -- For no reason at all. Just to be buttheads and put MORE glare on the road.
Besides, when I start caring what some 25 year old J-School graduate who couldn't get a job in the Fake News Media thinks about anything to do with trucks in a 7-eleven magazine...... Just shoot me
The LED lights on my 2017 F150 are worlds better than the Halogens on my 2015 F350. Not so sure what Quad Beam means, unless that means all four are on when on High-Beam (which they are).
I do need to add FOG/Driving lights though as they help with spotting deer before they become a hood ornament...
