Question Brake question

Hi, I just got done putting new pads and shoes all the way around on my 89 ranger, I even put in new rear master cyclinders and front calipers. I bleed the brakes, but when I start the truck up, the pedal still seems spongie to me, like I still have too much travel in it before the brakes catch. Is there something I am missing? any help would be great. it may be that I am just so used to the brakes on my 03 and forgot how the older trucks where!

Brake question

When you pump the pedal does it get hirer? If so, you probably have air in it. If not, don't worry about it, unless when you push the pedal it goes all the way to the floor. The brakes should seat and the pedal will sink a little less each time. When you put new pads on, the rotor is not perfectly flat like the new pads are and need time to adjust. A good 5 mi stop and go drive should seat the pads. This should be done somewhere that you can get up to at least 40-45 mph with stops and slowing in between. The idea is to "grind" a little material off of the pads without getting them too hot.
