I think just the pan and valve body. Careful when removing the valve body. Seems to me there is a little check ball in there somewhere.
Update. Did a g88gle search.

I will try leaving it in. I've already ordered the part. Hopefully everything I need gets here soon. I wanna start driving it again. And see how if sounds and feels once it all gets fixed. Thanks again.
I'm thinking it might be the 7D433 in the pic below. Part number C6AZ7D433A. Intermediate band actuating lever shaft.
So I cannot find this part available anywhere. A couple of the websites I visited say it's no longer manufactured. Am I going to have to scrap my tranny over this?
the bottom shaft is what I found in the pan (obviously). I think I will just have to take out the valve body assembly and start poking around to see what I can find.
I've been looking around the internet. Could it be the rod piece next to the red box?

If it is that piece by the red box it looks like Ford only serviced it in a complete valve body. Note the piece to the left of the 7D227. Are you sure there were no other issues other than what you mentioned?

I have tomorrow off. First thing I will be doing is taking the valve body assembly out. Finally see what I can find. Knowing my luck, I will be buying a new valve body. The only issues I experienced with the tranny was the downshift jolt, occasionally it would be slow to upshift. And either the engine or tranny were really loud. Also, a friend who works on trucks a bit said the engine gets really hot really fast. But that's it.

Maybe a local transmission rebuild shop would have just that secondary throttle valve plunger in their used stock or core pile.

Dropped the valve body. Couldn't find anything. Put everything back together (valve body, new filter, gasket, and pan), added fluid. The thing won't stay in park. I'm thinking it's the parking prawl. Which may explain what that rod is. I will be taking it to a transmission shop later today.
Haha. Yeah. The weird thing is that it never did it before. All I did was drop the pan to change the gasket and filter. I don't know why it would have broken then. I'm hoping the shop can fix it without having to drop the whole tranny. Maybe they can align the shifter too.

I never did get around to having mine fixed, just drove around with a pair of chocks and used my e-brake LOL
I would do that, except my e-brake doesn't work. Just one of the many things on my list of things to fix or replace. After this damn transmission I plan on doing the wiring harness next. I'm sure I will eventually scour the posts or make my own for that.
