I'm just wondering which headlights you guys use around here. I've always used the Sylvania Silverstars on my trucks but I'm starting to notice lately that the life on these bulbs is pretty awful, I'm usually luck to get a year and a half to two years before 1 blows. I like the ultra-white (or almost bluish) look, not the brown headlights like these trucks often have. Anybody have recommendations on a light that looks good and lasts a while?
I got some from JCwhitney not sure who made them but they have a greenish tint to them. They also have a 55 watt low beam and 100 watt high beam.they also have the white ones and a whole bunch of other colors. I only got them with the 100 watt high beam because I work second shift and am usually traveling back roads at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning, not much traffic.
Heh, not impatient, my thread got bumped way down overnight. Funny about your Silverstars lasting so long and mine sucking cahones. I believe I even read on the packaging that they have a much lower lifetime than regular headlights. Could be wrong on that. Anyone else??
thought about getting the clear headlights?? LMC had good price, but i bought some off of ebay for a lot less. with the clear lense you might could go back to an original bulb. not sure what bulbs were i got with my clear lights, i think sylvania, but i've got the cool blue's on my caddy. had them for almost 2yrs no complaints.
Hey, I just saw these on ebay, tell me what you guys think. I think they would look pretty good on a black truck, it is a headlight turn signal and corner marker all in one unit.
Those look cool but what do you do about the chrome piece that surrounds the parking and headlights. Isnt that attached to the parking and sidemarker lights? I cant remember and I just had them out too.
I just stick with the generic auto parts store stock replacement bulb. Where I live it never gets "DARK" so a mildly bright headlight works fine. I tried those blue tinted bulbs and they seemed way too dim, even with the highs on.
I have the Silverstars in my car. They both went out in a year. I still have the originals in my F150. Well at least since 2000 when I bought. Not sure if the PO ever replaced them.
