Talking Hood Stack Questions

Hey guys I'm looking to get a hood stack for my 7.3 and I'm wondering where to get a pipe to go from the turbo to the stack hole or how to go about getting one fabbed and fitted properly to the truck. It's got the stock turbo.

Before anyone says anything about it I will address the legality... I don't care that its illegal and I also don't care about the loudness/drone. I know yall are gonna try to dissuade me or say it's a bad idea but I'm young and dumb so just let it happen

Thanks!

Search for neal97f250. He did a hood stack a couple years ago. I believe he did a write up on it

Don't embrace your youth as a reason to make unwise decisions. Wisdom is learning from the mistakes of others. That way you don't have to suffer through the consequences of those poor decisions.

Well if its a hood stack just cut the v band flange off the down pipe and run some 3" flex pipe up there or even a dryer vent pipe, weld a 55 gallon barrel to the hood and paint it fluorescent anything. If fluorescent doesn't do it for ya, chrome, chrome it the eff out! Trashstacks for the win :-)

I know i was joking around.... hence weld the 55 gal drum to the hood.

In all honesty you will like have to fab your own hood stack o meet your look or position, or run flex on the cheap. I'm not hating on hood stacks, I'd take one any day over an in bed stack!

Like Knotty Rope said, just buy a 4" downpipe for an OBS and point it up and out. You will have to have it bent to get around the firewall though and up through the hood.

There are places that sell the part from hood up with flange etc. The lower part I believe you will have to fab.. Not much to it other than a couple 3" bends. I'm on board ,do it!!? Pics or it didn't happen!!

So if I want the stack location to be something like this what kind of fabbing would need to be done to get the exhaust to get to all the way to the stack??(assuming I do the upside down down pipe thing) I have no access to a welder so simple solutions are preferred!

remove down pipe
install down pipe pointing up
cut to desired height and cut hole in hood

Its the downpipe, and just flipping a stock down pipe upside down wont work, flipping a 3" downpipe will not work either, buy a new one for 80$ and a 45 degree 3" bend and cut, roll the 45 to make fit, weld on a 10" tip for coolness factor right

Lastly please do not put the mad ghey offset wheels on the truck too :-) I like deep dish wheels but this lowrider ghey offset thing on diesel trucks is as bad as the light bars on the windshield of every truck, subaru, jeep and so on.

They look good on a hydraulic car though, some fresh 13s?

Is there a way to avoid welding? I don't have access to a welder. Also I'm gonna level my truck and throw on some 35s on 16 inch rims so no ghey lookin offset bologna
