Hello, new to the Ford side of the world. Have always had a GM and thought I would try something new. So far love the truck, I have a 2017 Super Duty that doesn't have the step in the tailgate. My question is can I just purchase the guts and a new cap and install in the tailgate, or do I have to purchase a whole new tailgate? Thank you in advance.

 

my 2014 has one. i can not figure out how to get it out of the gate.
the one time someone else got it out i tried to use it and found it was easier to just use the bumper to climb into the bed.
i would say don't waste your money.

 

I have a 14 with the step. I never would have ordered it, but now I am glad I have it. I don't know the answer to your question. You might get more and better responses if you post in the super duty section.
