Add tailgate step?

I really miss my step off my 2011. Is it possible to add one?

There was a thread a week or two ago about this. I think the cost for a new tailgate was 3-4K or something else ridiculous. Might be able to pick one up in several months at a junk yard or place that parts out factory beds

Does anyone know if any other year or model is the same? F150?

The answer is no. Only a 2017 Super Duty tailgate will work.

Hey, mine is Blue! But I'm willing to "accept the risk" of clanking and breaking, lol!

Another argument to use is that the tailgate with the step is "heavier" to close than the non-step gate. (It is)

The tailgate with step on the '17 feels like 50%+ less weight to close than my prior '15...it's shockingly light.

With the step, it feels about the same weight to close as the non-step 2016 tailgate. The difference is the lightweight aluminum. Try a non-step aluminum tailgate, that is shockingly light.

I bet! My 10yr old son used two hands and a grunt to get the '15 up, the '17 is one hand and plenty left for conversation while doing it. LOL

I was the one that started the thread about the lack of a tailgate step on my Lariat. I can guarantee that I asked for it, my dealer dropped the ball. There's no way he's going to admit it, so it is what it is.

I will find one eventually, but it won't be from the factory, because that will cost $4,700.00, which is some serious robbery.

The current tailgate I have is extremely light, I'm anxious to see how much heavier one with a step is.

If your trade falls through the folding bed corner steps are really nice IMO. They tuck up when not in use and pull down with your toe when you need em. I like this design because you can get into the bed easier even when the tailgate is up. It's not as sure footed as the Ford factory design though.

I have a mint condition Blue Jeans with no step but has a camera. It came off a 2017 Lariat Value with Chrome package. Still looking to trade? I would love to have the step!
