Hi
My 2008 SD came from factory with painted body side moldings. It seems this not an available option anymore. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get them that are precut?
Just get some steps that stick out a little. They'll protect your doors and wont look like crap.
They do to some degree but you will still get chips lots of them. I have also noticed the countour of the front end leads to throwing rocks and mud up in the air more then old designs. First time I got mud on my sun roof I was kind of baffled.
I ordered body side molding from Sport Wing.com. . Specifically I ordered p/n FE3-F250/350-CC color H5 (caribou metallic). I aso ordered two extra side moldings (34") that normally go on the rear doors, and I put them on the bed just ahead of the rear wheels.
They are precut and painted to match any paint color. That way if my king ranch is parked with steps up I still have protection against door dings. I'll try to put a picture up for you to see.
The Sort Wing Body moldings on my KR. There is one on each door and one on the bed. They blend in with the two-tone paint and are hard to notice. <br/>
Yes I had to contact Sportwing.com and request a special order. I ordered the FE2-f250/350-CC-H5 and then request an extra pair that are meant for the rear doors. They are 34" long and fit the bed well. They really need to be a little longer on the rear doors but they work. The add on order lists "Both rear dr and pass for FE2-f250/350-CC" all painted to the paint code H5 for Caribo. I worked with Jim Giglio in Marketing and Alicia Mullins in sales

Did they say why the rear door moldings were so short? I like them except for that.

It really the same body side moldings used on the previous Superduties. As you know the 2017s have larger rear doors. I really wish they had made them about 3" longer too. However, they blend in to the point that there hard to notice so I'm happy to have them for added protection against door dings.
