Question 1989 Thermostat problem

I need help finding my thermostat on a 1989 Ford Ranger XLT. The engine is 2.3Litre. Thats about all I know but I have one that may be stuck and need to know where to change it at? If you have a picture or a diagram I would appreciate it.

It's located where the heater return hose goes into the engine block. I scanned a picture from my Haynes Manual, but I'm not sure how to get it to you.

Invest $10 in a haynes or chilton manual... you can get 'em cheap on ebay and they are perpetually useful.

The text in the manual reads:

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine to locate the thermostat housing.

On 4-cyl engines, it is on the right side of the cylinder head.
