2011 F250 Front Springs

Hello to everybody. New guy here but not new to Ford trucks. I bought my first one, a 1973 way back in 1974. I've owned all Ford trucks except one from the dark side and that was one experience I never want to repeat again.

I've lurked on here but joined because I have a question that maybe one or some of you can help me out with. I just recently bought a 2011 F250 Super Duty, 6.2, 4X4, super cab with a short bed and 48,000 miles. I bought it to pull a 5th wheel with and the front suspension is less than spectacular. It feels good unless I drive across some rough pavement and then it wants to dance.

It has the camper package, snow plow prep and tow packages. I'm wondering if the heavier DD front springs is causing this behavior and if it is what I can do about it. I'll change the springs to the lighter stock springs if necessary.

Do any of you have these packages and if so how does your truck handle? Where can I buy springs besides a dealer and do any of you recommend a certain spring.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

The stock shocks are horrible, buy better ones and you'd be surprised how much better the truck feels

I guess I should do that before I think about buying new springs. They look like a Rancho shocks and I thought that they were put on since new but I read that the FX4 package came with Rancho shocks. Can't confirm that though.

The ride feels great except when going over very rough pavement. Any advice on which shocks to buy for the front. I'm not going to do any off roading and want the smoothest ride possible on all types of roads.

What pressure do you have the tires at? Maybe try 65 or 60 - may smooth it out a bit.

I dropped the front ones down to 55 psi. It might have helped them a bit but not much.
