1988 F-250 question

Trying to put a value on our 1988 4x2 F250. Powered with a 460 this truck is beautiful. Has just under 69000 miles on it. Here is a little history on it. Was purchased new in Texas and traded in on a new truck at the Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus Ohio in `91. That's when we purchased it. has only been used to haul a camper. Just sold the camper and no need for this second truck anymore. This thing has never seen snow, been kept indoors always. Interior is like new. No rust anywhere on this truck. Some paint chipping on front of hood, that's about it. Truck is really, really nice, I don't need to sell it but I don't need a second truck. what can I ask for this truck. here are a few pics. Thanks Pit Crew.

This is a difficult one to answer as it depends on where you live. I'd take a look at eBay and the better quality online sales sites and see if you can find something similar nearby. That will at least give you an idea of what people are asking. Though I'd avoid Craigslist as prices tend top be lower there!

The monetary worth of something like that is complex, because it's worth is in the eye of the beholder. If I owned something like that, I'd want to get 10k because that's what it's worth to me NOT TO HAVE anymore. If I saw that truck for sale for 6k, I'd stop...take a look....maybe think about it in my sleep. For 4500, I'd buy it and ask no questions.

Thanks guys, I knew this would be kind of a hard question to answer. KBB would be the last place I would look to get a idea around here. 29 yr old truck in ohio...about 600.00 probably. lol . I have only bought new trucks since 1989,so trying to put a price on a used truck isn't easy. I do know last year I truck hunted for my Dad, 10,000 bought you a 110,000 and up in miles, 8 to 12 yr old trucks (1/2 ton 4x4) with plenty of rust.
Its just hard to value a truck like this. but man is she nice. I just wish it was a 4x4. It would sell in no time. Need to find somebody that likes the older trucks and wants to turn it into a 4 wheel drive truck. Guess I`m going to stick a price on her and see what happens. I don't need to sell it. got room to keep it. Besides , its kind of neat driving her around, get all kinds of looks from people around here.

IMHO, the prices people pay for stuff on EBay are inflated. A good market value is probably somewhere between KBB and EBay. I find stuff on Craigslist tends to fall in that category. Of course, when you're selling you want as much as possible but when you're buying you want to pay as little as possible.

I agree with '82F2urd. I'd probably buy that truck for $4,500 without thinking too much about it. But you could probably sell it to someone else for more.

If you don't need to sell it, hold onto it with a price in mind. When the right person comes along that can appreciate a truck like that, and money ain't a thang, they'll be happy to buy it and you'll know it'll go to a good home. God forbid someone throws a ladder rack on and destroys it.
