Just out of curiosity I was checking the value of my new truck on NADA.com and it has a 1971 f250 listed at $7,725?? I love my truck but for that price I could buy 5 of them.
Yeah, they seem to quote the sort of value I'd expect for insurance purposes, not for buying/selling - my '67 is listed at *way* more than I got it for, too.
(Ours is just on a regular ol' insurance policy right now, but I always used to have my old cars on agreed-value policies for quite a bit more than I'd paid for them, just to reflect time/effort/money for restoration work that I'd done - useful to have in case of any total-loss type scenario)
