Question Accelerator pedal

I replaced my pedal last August. Original lasted to 260 k So I replaced pedal and Maps sensor as well. I used ford parts. I just had the same issue again with the pedal. The usual step on pedal no response from engine then will sudden jerk and rev up. then dead again. So i cleaned it up with Electronic cleaner and blew it out. That it seems made it worse and it died for good after that. So i ordered another one. Received it today and all is good again. Dealer (Autonation) formerly Tously Ford said it had 2 yr warranty and would need to be tested to refund the $$. No problem there. So my question to anyone out there is Dos it seem odd that it failed so soon? It seems these are rebuilt because they want t core return. I guess you cant get a brand new one. Having a DP tuner and changing tunes shouldn't affect the pedal assembly would it? Also since i do have the adjustable pedals in my truck (lucky me) it cost 530 bucks. Local dealer wanted 1150.00 they are crazy. thanks Jeff

It does seem odd, but entirely possible especially if the part is no longer available as new.
