With less than 2,000 miles, my tailgate got damaged. Long story....

Took it to the dealer recommended body shop (separate business, but does all of the various dealer's stores Ford, GM, etc.).

Needed new tailgate due to tear in tailgate.

$1,800.00 later, not happy, workers damaged by Retrax Pro bed cover by forcing it closed when it was locked open.

Took 3 weeks, when I was told it would take 4 days.

Tailgate rubs bed cover rails when it didn't with original tailgate.

Tailgate doesn't align properly on one side.

Took the cover off to trim the poorly done spray on liner to get trim to fit flush and found this:

Am I being too picky? I want to know before I confront them, but I am very peeved...

 

You are the customer. The work should be done to your satisfaction.

Take it back and demand it be done properly.

 

That's bull**** **** poor work there. Take it back...

 

Definitely not to picky. The truck should look the same as it did from the factory. If you can see the difference, they did not do their job.

They get one chance to fix it right or take it somewhere else and have it done right and then sue them for the additional expenses in correcting their mistake. YOU ARE NOT AT ALL BEING TOO PICKY.

 

I'm curious...how did the tailgate originally become damaged?

I have the electronic release tailgate...my gate dropped on its own while driving and towing a trailer with an adjustable coupler height. The plastic on the tailgate was damaged. Not happy.

 

Trailer decoupled and struck the tailgate....😭

 

The body shops approved by my insurance give life time warranty on all repairs. Don't accept subpar repairs.
