The annual Wings and Wheels show at the Dover Air Force Base Museum was held today. A little over 400 cars showed up. Call it "off topic" if you must. I wasn't trying to stick to 1st and 2nd generation trucks, or even Fords. It's the combination of cars and planes that make for a great day.
From the last pic above: The big hulking mass, in the far rear, is a C-5, the largest aircraft in The Air Force inventory. It's about 200 yards away. The C97, in front of it, is about 75 yards away. Just to give some perspective.
Cool pics, Love the planes too. When I was a kid, I spent summers at my grand parents who lived close to a S.A.C. base. The B52s were awesome as they passed so low at regular intervals. Every body just stopped talking when they went over, no use trying to talk over them the ground seemed to shake. Thanks for sharing the show.
I'm always surprised that at these airshows you rarely see aircraft equipped with Dowty Propellers. They make such a huge change in the capabilities of aircraft equipped with them.
