It's not just the foam, it's Ford's obstinate, backward, conceited, idiotic engineering staff that won't move away from their BS e-coat primer immersion and accept contemporary galvanized coatings. Plenty of other makes have done this to great success.... except Ford.

That's a great idea. IF there's one thing Ford really excels at, it's managing galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals, as my exhaust studs can attest.
Up here in salt country, my '07 looks a lot better than an average 11 year old Chevy or GMC pickup. Those GM trucks look a lot better than the average 11 ear old Dodge/Ram pickups.
Although, the Dodge/Ram trucks are usually quicker, due to weight reduction via rust.
