towing help
I'm looking at a 2016 EL XLT ...This is the engine EcoBoost 3.5L V6 GTDi DOHC 24V Twin Turbocharged , and it says 7720lb payload package ..... How do I figure out the total towing capacity?

in order to figure it all out the fine print helps a lot so take note:
Find out your rear axle ratio and make note of that.
Find out if you have the towing package and trailer brake controller and towing mirrors.
Check your tires, are they P rated tires or E Light truck tires. Find the max psi on the side wall and the max load for the tires.
View your door cert and find the GVW of the axles.
Get your truck on the scales and compare the data with what your ratings are.
In the towing guide you can zero in on F150 section starting on page 16. There is hitch receiver towing and then there is 5th wheel.
Both of those will be different.
