DOAF-6750-D. PO installed a 70 Torino 302, not sure if he swapped oil pans using the same dip stick. Later I swapped for 68 302 using same pan and dipstick. Manual for passenger vehicles calls for 5 quarts w/ new filter, the truck manual calls for 6 quarts w/ new filter. Last oil change I stopped at 4.5 quarts w/ new filter when the oil level on dip stick was far above the 'safe' zone?
Curious if I should be searching for a correct dipstick? Comments appreciated!
I would get the right dipstick for it. You can buy aftermarket dipsticks from Summit or Jegs that are for a specific engine. They generally aren't too expensive.
D0AF-6750-D No such ID number as DOAF-6750-D ..It has to be D0AE-6750-C if it's from a 1970 302 Torino.

302 not available in F100's until 1969. IMO: You already have the correct dipstick and tube.
D0AZ-6750-C .. Engine Oil Dipstick / Marked with ID number: D0AE-6750-C / Obsolete
18.59" top of shield to full / 19.26" top of shield to add 1 / 19.96" top of shield to add 2 / 20.86" top of shield to end.
Bill, I tried looking up that number on RockAuto for the OP and wasn't able to find anything. I noticed you mentioned it was obsolete, would a Ford parts department be able to get it with that number?
Oh. I will admit that I don't know the difference between a 302, 351 and 460 (besides the displacement). I looked up the aftermarket dipstick with the info you provided in post #3.

Sometimes Ford used the same oil pan but different dipsticks for a 5qt or 6 qt. fill. I wouldn't worry about it to much. You would have to put a lot more than 5qts. in there to have a windage problem.
The # posted is from the marking on the current dipstick?? I am of the opinion year of engine is not as much an issues as to whether the dipstick is a for front or rear sump application, and not sure it matters. Measured the dipstick, fully seated in the tube, bell shaped stop to the end of dipstick measures 21". Oil pressure gauges currently reads around 55, seems the more oil added, 5 to 5.5 quarts the pressure tends to drop to around 35-45? Recently changed oil, possibly add 1/2 to 1 quart of oil until next oil change then monitor quantity to perhaps 5 to 5.5 quarts?
This dipstick ID engineering number is invalid, does not exist.
D0AF is wrong by itself, because engine related ID engineering numbers end with an E not an F
I looked thru 4 parts catalogs (1964/72 & 1973/79 truck/1965/72 & 1973/79 car) and 2 master cross reference catalogs (1960/72 & 1973/79): ID engineering numbers to Ford part numbers.
There is no D0AE-6750-D listed.
If the 302 came from a 1970 Torino, the ID engineering number has to be: D0AE-6750-C
It doesn't matter if the sump is front or rear or the pan is from a car or truck.
The same D0AZ-6750-C dipstick and D2OZ-6754-A tube were used with all the car/truck applications I listed in post #3.

Intend purchasing a dip stick once I can establish which is appropriate for my application; meantime, use existing dip and monitor oil capacity, as best as I can determine is approx. 5.5 quarts with new filter?
Clear to me the existing dipstick is of not use. Searched and about to purchase a used D0AE-6750-C; fortunately, checked the existing dipstick and after close inspection confirmed the dipstick is a D0AE-6750-C. Intend changing oil and filter, 5 quarts and small container of ZDDP then mark the dipstick as a reference point.
