Were a pain to install in my truck. Mounting plates were already in place but 2 of the cleats would not slide up into the notch, period. I had to remove the mounting plates, insert the cleat and re-attach the whole assembly. Even then, one of the cleats I had to convice with a hammer to get fully seated.....not the end of the world problem but it wasn't fun on a 95 degree day.
Apparently my ordered F250 Lariat CCSB will have this option. Gotta wait about a month to get it though...
Coincidentally the Truck Covers USA Roll Cover tonneau arrived today. Whoopee! While inspecting the contents of the boxes I found they had tossed in what they call the American Snap-Loc ratchet strap kit. See Truck Covers USA | AMERICAN SNAP-LOC!
Is this compatible with the mounting plates for the BoxLink system?

the STRAP in YOUR picture shows e-track compatible ends. as such it is compatible w/ boxlink plates mounted in the bed from ford.
the removable "cleats" that ford provides w/ boxlink are NOT conventional e-track or x-track compatible.
this d-ring and strap ring are e-track compatible (like your strap)....they are available at Northerntool and MANY other places (Including tractor supply).
None of the last four long boxes I've had have had six. They SHOULD, imho, since I'm burying the front two under a toolbox...
Yeah, I don't remember seeing six either. I have been hooking a chain as an extension to the front two under the toolbox so I can still use them. It has come in handy a few times.
Anyone happen to know the distance between the two box links on one side of the truck. I'm thinking about getting a boxlink bag or box to store my tow strap, led lanterns, jack, some tools, etc.
I think these bags I'm finding are too small though, only 2 feet wide. I dont really like the swing out boxes that you can get, they block the lights and rear hooks. Anyone seen anything like I'm talking about?
I (think) I understand the benefits of the BoxLink system. I just wasn't sure if the mounting plates on the inside bed walls came on every truck to leave the factory or only the ones with the BoxLink option. Anyone with a base XL able to confirm this?
Have XL; did not order box link option. Can confirm truck does have the mounting plates already install from factory. You should be able to buy any E-track accessories aftermarket and have them work just fine.
Also, I have the long bed, there are only 4 total mounts, not 6. They are definitely farther than 2' apart. See below:
well I guess that's why anything has a lock, but why those? Ford doesn't include wheel or receiver locks. I'm just saying I don't see why ford sees this as something special
For example, if you have something secured to the box link cleat, lets say a generator, its secured with a chain and a pad lock and is also locked to the cleat that is locked to the bed of the truck.

Thank you. This is the information I wanted. I will probably not get the factory option and pick up the cleats from the dealer at a later time if I so choose. I am more interested in the E-track comparability than I am the factory offered cleats but would prefer to have the mounting plates factory installed.
