We found pure gas while traveling in North Dakota. It was priced 15% higher than E90. We tried a tank full, but our mileage only increased by 5%. So, economically for us, it doesn't make sense to use it. But, it's nice to say that we used a tank full. Jag

When you say one tank full, was the tank almost completely empty? Did you still have a quarter tank? One tankfull with pure gas will not be completely accurate. Try 2 or three consecutive tank fulls, empty the tank till your low fuel light comes on then fill up you should get a better mpg then when you were running straight E-10 or E15 fuel.
The opportunity was only at one fill up location. My fill up took about 21 gallons of a 25 gallon tank. So, my experiment was not completely accurate. Since we were just passing through, I could not try multiple tank fill ups. My mileage increased from 21 to 22 mpg. So, if my tank had been 100% filled with non ethanol, maybe I would have seen 22.4mpg?? Still not ecomically prudent to pay 15% more for the good stuff. But, good to know it's out there and that I got to try it.
I just drove through Bismarck ND. The headline on the paper was that local politicians were pushing for the government to increase gasoline ethanol levels to E30. Greed is a terrible thing. 😔 Jag
Greed seems to be what drives green.

When have you seen green being rational? Look at the diesels. In 2012 the F250's were getting in the 20's and now, being greener, they get in the mid teens. Go figure how that is rational.

Try Walmart's and look for a blue button on the pump. In fact ALL pumps I have seen that deliver e-free gas are blue. That is ALL I use in my R/C planes, mower, weed eaters, and other expensive to fix stuff like engine driven compressors.

I haul fuel for a living and actually deliver to many Walmarts across DFW...I hadn't seen any with 100% gas drops. Though talking to a couple of co-
workers I discovered that a Walmart in Hudson Oaks dose (situated in I20 about 20 miles west of Fort Worth) indeed sell 100% gas. It's sourced all the way down in San Antonio!

Yeah, then it comes from VP Fuels. Or at least the fuels specialist who told me about it got his info from a VP representative who was having some testing done on their products at a research lab here in SA.
I think that most of the E-Free stuff is in the 'hinterlands' as it were because the big metro areas failed some EPA attainment status and it is banned from there. Or at least in the west of our country. If you look at the map, it can be found in lots of non metro areas. But that is just a guess.

Yeah the big metro areas are required to use the reformulated gas. Right now that's waved as needed with the shortages though.
