Hey all, brand new Utility trailer with a 7 pin off the bumper...no issues until a few weeks ago, popped no. 99 (trailer parking lights). Now tonight, hook everything up, no running lights on the trailer again, and the plug and wire are HOT.
Pull the wheelers off, sits for a few minutes, start the truck again, all are working...cord isn't heating up.
What manner of issue does this sound like? Truck, yes? But what?
I'm guessing your trailer wiring has an issue, and you're pinching a hot wire to your trailer lights somewhere.. could even be in the plug itself... In the world of utility trailers (all trailers really) - new doesn't always mean high quality

Yea, it has to be a ground short somewhere. Unfortunately this brand is well regarded...apparently I got one built on a Friday.
