Quick question about turbo feed line

So I have an '03 6.0 and its got a little leak on the I'm hoping turbo drain tube. I havent updated the drain or feed so i figure now would be a good time to do them. Now I see this kit http://ktperformance.net/i-16076187-ford-motorcraftturbo-oil-line-update-kit-ford-2003-10-6-0l-power-stroke-diesel-drain-line-6c3z-9t515-a-feed-line-3c3z-9t516-a.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw7pHLBRDqs-X8hZ3Mgp0BEiQAXIo9rhMOUrkQObBiJj5aUJectZvJHHn_aZ9B PbtqCTY3W7EaAqlO8P8HAQ but it mentions needing an updated oil filter base if before a certain date in 03. How do I know if I need that? And should I do anything else to the turbo while its out? I don't have any issues with it now but since its out ya know.

Your going to have to get at the block S/N on the back side below the head
on the drivers side. Maybe if you still have the original FICM you could pull
the S/N from there but not sure I would trust that.

I would think one other option would be to fins someone that has a later
build date engine that has replaced the oil feed tube and see if the O-ring
boss fits on your engine.

How does your oil supply line secure to the oil cooler base? Is it secured via one 8mm bolt or is it the very early "quick connect/release" type connection? If it's the type secured via one 8mm bolt, then you can use that kit.

So my 2005 Turbo feed line has a braided steel portion and the brand new paper gasket is leaking on top of the turbo. Do I need to replace it with part# 3C3Z-9T516-A? Also any advice to dealing with the only frickin paper gasket in the whole engine from leaking. Should I use a sealant with it. Sorry to hijack.

A new gasket will solve the leak so long as the
surfaces are clean and the torque is correct.

Thank you, I think I'm going to change out my braided hose version while I'm in there as well.

I thinks it restricts flow compared to the lastest version. Or it's just cost more for Ford to make.

The bart in the braid can collapse and restrict flow to the turbo.
Very hard on the turbo.
