Air intake options

Ok I give up and need some help. Has anyone installed a cold air intake to replace the factory air cleaner on a 66-72 F Series? I don't want any heated air from the engine compartment. I want to figure out a box, tube and carb attachment to my 360. I've seen many after market parts but the cost is ridiculous. Looking for a junkyard solution. I've seen some mid 90's GM TBI options that look possible. Has anyone tried this and what did you use???

Do this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...r-cleaner.html

...Then run flexible hoses to a hole cut on each inner fender.

So I went ahead and added a fresh cold air intake system. I found the air box and topper from a 1998 Dodge Durango and with a little modification I’m pretty happy with it. The top needed to be trimmed a little but fits perfectly on a 4 BBL. The air box needed some heavy modification but fits nicely and uses a 3” ABS pipe drawing air from behind the bumper in the frame rail area just below the box. After a drive the carb is cold while the engine bay is hot. A great little weekend project for about $65.
