noise
I have a 1997 Ford F350 crew-cab 4x4, it is making a noise when the truck is idling and there is sight vibration in the steering wheel when starting off driving. The noise stops after changes to second gear. truck is an automatic.

What does the noise sound like? Is it coming from the engine compartment, trans, or rear end? How are all your fluids? Have you checked your trans fluid while the truck is up to temp and running?

Fluids are all fine, just changed oil to see if that could have been the trouble. The noise is coming from the engine compartment. The vibration appears to be getting worse. Transmission is changing smoothly. Noise sounds kinda like a bearing going bad.

Almost sounds like a flex plate issue. I saw a thread a while ago where the noise would go away above 20 mph, and return below that speed. Hard to diagnose until it gets worse, but the inspection plate is easy to pull off, and you could be able to hear a sound difference if it is coming from that area.
