I agree and think they look better mounted closer to the cab. Are you saying you used a different bracket (for F150) to mount them?? rather than using the brackets provided for F250??
Yes the 2015 & up f150 brackets will work on the 2017 super duty steps.
I liked the factory steps but I personally didn't like how far they hung down so I raised them up close to the truck. You can purchase the brackets from Ford for the 2015 & up f150's and they bolt right up.
I really like that look. Any idea how much higher the brackets lifted the boards?
Thanks for the photos. One more question... can you still get your entire foot on the step or is the board too close to the door?
Yes I can get my entire foot on the board once the door is open, they are still very usable but not as user friendly as before because the step is so much higher along with the leveling kit i installed. I was willing to sacrifice a little usability for the extra ground clearance and the looks. It did take a few days to adapt to them being so much higher.
I installed DeeZee Rough Step in Aluminum. I like them but they definitely have a more "industrial" look. They also collect mud but are easily washed clean due to the perforated design: https://www.deezee.com/product/rough...unning-boards/
I was wondering about height / function with much of a lift....... Even raising them a little with a 2.5 level.
I don't plan to level or lift, at least for now, so I think this could work great for me. I actually like the stock configuration and feel like the rear may settle a little anyway after putting some load on it. Thanks for all the info!!

I was looking at those. They didnt appear to have poly caps on the end like Luverne. They also are cab length, didn't see any wheel to wheel. Luverne has cab and wheel t wheel. Anyway, if I try some of these I will probably try Luverne wheel t wheel.
I figured they would clean OK but did figure they were a little more industrial looking. But, I wouldn't worry about my foot slipping off, etc.

They are a very functional design, the end caps are just a piece of "C" channel that you bolt into the opening, they do not cover the end of the step. No, they are not wheel to wheel but do extend slightly past the cab on my 250 CC (sorry no pics to post). They are great for traction and my wife especially likes them for the grip.
I should also post that though DeeZee was very good about making it right, the brackets came much later than the steps, box was partially open and 2 of the mounting plates were missing (there are 3 brackets per side but I only received 4 plates (in fairness, I think this was a shipping issue but the box was fairly weak for the weight of the mounting brackets....very solid pieces though, I was impressed). Again, DeeZee was very good about responding but it took 3 shipments to get the order right. The kit comes with standard washers and hex nuts and I had issues with bolts loosening so had to spend a few buck at Lowe's to get lock nuts.
wouldn't mind a part number either. I do like the look of the higher step. Its something I would need to do soon before the wife gets used to the current steps.
I have the extended factory boards on my truck, they are REALLY handy for me since I use the bed of my truck almost daily. It never fails, something has to be a pain and slide all the way to the front center of the bed
Just an idea... Check them out on a new f150 at a dealership to see if they suit your needs. That way you can try before you buy.
Just got back from the dealer to look at the boards. I really liked the "high and tight" look of the 150 and by your pics it looks good on the S/D but...my Queen, who stands 4'10" thought they were too high, and you know the saying... "If momma...
