They are for bolting down to the head, and then they get capped with a threaded plug. Normally a pillar goes through at each of those locations, reducing flow. This gives unrestricted flow, as well as deletes the egr valve and coolant passage.

Shop is redoing the heads under warranty. They agree there must be a small leak. Doing a regulated return and this ported intake when they do it.

Normally $850 or so but they had a 4th of July sale and I got it for around $749. All new casting, no core charge.
