I just bought a 91 f250 4x4 it has the 7.3 turbo diesel in it. I can start it and it will idle fine. But driving down the road it has died on me multiple times. What could be the issue? Any comments would be appreciated. It seems to do it at higher rpm. If that helps.
It doesn't do it all the time. Drove it home about 30 minute drive and it was fine. Tried to take off some garbage the other day ten minutes down the raid and it died four times. What would you suggest new fuel pump fuel filter and air filter

Fuel filter and air filter for sure. The fuel pump is inexpensive and easy to change as well.
How much fuel was in the tank when it died? Could have a broken pickup
It was showing up between a quarter and half I will try to get a new fuel pump filter and air filter and see what happens.
Thanks
See if it is repeatable at that fuel level. These idi's have issues with there factory fuel puckups coming apart over time which means they cant pull fuel once it gets to about 1/4 of a tank. If it is repeatable and goes away when fuel is added, then fix the pick up. Basically, drop the tank and put an extension on the pickup. There are mutliple threads on this procedure. I had to do this on both tanks in mine.
A new fuel filter and air filter is always a good idea, but you may not need a fuel pump. I wohld leave it until u know what it is. Many delete the mechanical pump and install an electeic in its place. That is what i did.

Im going to try a new fuel and air filter first don't know that it would be the pick up because it seems to to it on both tanks. Would that not just effect one tank (unless they are both bad of course)
