If this has already been addressed, please point me to the article. I have purchased old ambulance cab and chassis, both 7.3 and 6.0. From what I can tell from the threads it is not economically feasible to put a 5r110 behind a 7.3 (again, please let me know if this has been successfully paired). However, I would like to also know if an e-series 4r100 will swap into an F-series 4r100 and an e-series 5r110 will swap into a 6.0 f-series. My mechanic is currently taking the 6.0 out of the ambulance to go into my 07 with a blown head gasket and he was saying that from first look the transmission lines are different and wasn't sure the e-series 5r110 could swap into an f-series. Anyone of knowledge on the above?

The only possible difference is at the back end where the driveshaft attaches. If they both are bolt on driveshafts, or both slip yoke, it will work fine. Other than that possibility the transmissions are identical between E and F Series.
