Hey everyone, I recently found out that my truck was a special order, and I just happen to have the original build sheet though it is in poor condition. There is no paint codes on the top of the paper where there is a space for colors, but there is a section on the bottom where a note is added about paint. The seat is in storage so this picture is the best I have currently. Is there a known list of paint codes to possibly decode the paint option my truck had, I know the truck has been repainted at least once. the floor boards when i removed the carpet are a dark metallic blue which looks similar to a more modern Ford color called Deep Wedgewood Blue. This is more out of curiosity vs. me wanting to restore the truck to 100% stock, that ship sailed awhile ago, I believe in restomoding as long as the modifications look near factory and period correct.
The current color is a grey, which I plan on painting the truck in a two tone green and white since I found a period correct fiberglass white topper. Trying to give it the appearance of a factory topper package.
Did you check the drivers side door (below door latch on back side of the door) for the factory warranty plate? It will have the color codes from the factory on it!
I do know it is a DSO and it is from my area originally, I am from Prescott, AZ. I am the second owner of the truck and it was originally from Phoenix, the elderly gentleman who owned it basically, age took away his ability to drive. So I understand non standard color with a DSO, but on that build sheet there is a note about paint at the bottom which I will circle on a additional image.

martiauto.com may have the Domestic Special Order paint formula, because he has ALL the 1967/79 FoMoCo records.
Marti is located east of the Black Canyon Freeway in El Mirage, NW of Phoenix.
On your build sheet..... WT-2828 just so happens to be a paint code for a Ford color. Ford code WT2828
A Ford special order Gray color.
By chance truck was already blue like cab floors and someone special ordered it gray and was factory re sprayed? I don't know if Ford ever did things like that but I have heard of other similar things done by GM for fleet orders etc.
Look how nice paint is around Warranty Plate and is under clear part of door sticker. Looks like it was painted gray before those were installed.
I think that blue interior color was common in custom trucks. I have a '79 f150 custom 4x4 in original exterior color with that blue interior color. When the PO resprayed he had the interior sprayed as well and its starting to peel off the dash.
I know I have seen that dark blue in at least one other custom truck on line with a different exterior.
