1st time Ford F-250 owner...love it so far. Pulling a 5 th wheel with it...night and day difference from the Tundra I replaced.
Quick question, tho
Ok... so I have a 2017 SRW 4x4, crew cab, diesel, and 3.55 rear end. From the Trailer Towing Wt Ratings Chart in the technical specs section of the 2017 brochure, it looks like I can tow a maximum of 14k lbs of 5th wheel/gooseneck. It looks like the exact same truck in 2016 had a max tow (5th wheel) capacity of 15,100. With all the hoopla about aluminum body, weight savings and increased torque in this year's model, seems like the 2017s should be capable of towing more than the 2016s...or at least roughly the same, not 1,100 less. What am I missing?
Congrats...great looking truck! I'm in a very similar situation. When you say you were going to order a 2018...was your dealer telling you 2017's can't be ordered any longer? I'm getting mixed messages on that, and was going to head down to the dealer who is telling me they still can, tomorrow to see if I can get an order in
Dealer said 2017's are still available for ordering but I was not in a hurry and was going to wait for 2018's. Only reason I purchased now was wife didn't like past experience towing our rv in windy conditions with short wheelbase Expedition.
Thanks for all the warm greetings. I am happy to be part of this community and I am looking forward to being a Superduty owner.
These DRW trucks are amazing...going up to a 5th wheel with the stability it's amazing at highway speeds in the 65 to 70 mph range. I've been finding the 62 to 65 mph range is the sweet spot. You'll love it!

Got it. Yep, same reason I've getting rid of my 16 F150...36' trailer + light truck/short wheelbase + moderate winds= no good. Looking forward to the weight and stability in towing with a SD (going 350 SRW 6.75' bed)
