I have a 96 F 250 super cab 4x4 with 5.8 engine. My front springs seem to be weak as the tires are noticeably tipped in at the top and my spring bump stops are very close to the springs. what is the best fix for this condition? the front is ttb.
well it sits pretty level as there is a slide in truck camper on it right now. I have Firestone air bags on the back so I can level it out to some degree. I just don't like the look of the wheels tipping in and not much travel distance on the front suspension. Just returned from Alaska on a 11,00 mile month long trip. The roads up there need a truck with good suspension travel when you hit the frost blowouts in the road, they can be pretty rough.
If you can tolerate it, I'd recommend a 2.5" lift for what you want to do. If the camper stays on tge truck, and drops the rear an inch or two, I'd add a pad back there to make it level after the front lift is installed.
I put Monroe air shocks on my 87 with a ttb . It use to bottom out on large humps in the road like at an intersection . It also stopped it form dropping with the snow plow on it . I only had to put a sleeve in one end of the shock to mount them . They are they the same ones used for a 150 rear axel , extended and compressed lengths are allmost spot on . It did not lift it any noticeable amount though .
Thanks for the suggestions, I just had my ball joints checked by a good garage and he said they were good and tight yet. Not sure what I am going to do yet, will keep my options open for now.
