1950 cab on 1984 frame swap

I purchased a 1984 f350 4x4 with 460. I'd like to swap the cab out with a 1950 ford. To complicate the build, I'd like to swap the 460 for a 7.3 turbo. From my research so far, the c6 trans that is in the truck will also have to be changed out also. Will there be an issue on the transfer case as well as driveshafts? I don't see an issue with axless or gear ratios. Am I missing anything?

I'm tempted to forget the 7.3 and just run the 460 but it's for my son and he is wanting a 1950 ford with 7.3. So I'd like to make that happen for him.

A friend of mine had a 50 F-1 mounted on a 73 F-100 frame a few years ago. It was not a 4x4 and had a 360 engine and C6. That's the only frame swap I've seen that looked decent. Biggest problem he had was the track width. The front wheels stuck out past the fenders a little. He did not do the swap but bought it that way so I have no answers as far as how to go about it or if an 84 would be similar...

I'm not sure how old your son is but if he is a teenager that might not be a good idea. After having 4 boys this is just my experience.

I have to agree (3 sons). For one thing their attention span is awful short. Went thru a very painful automatic to 5-sp conversion on my one son's TBird SC, only to have him sell it 3 months later....

My son wanting to do this build is in college. He is doing the build!! If he sells it or wrecks it, it's on him. We have built others together but this one he wants to do himself. Just trying to give him answers and help.
