2017 Escape TEST mode
2017 Escape TEST mode
While playing around with the wife's new Escape SE I figured out how to get it in engineering test mode. This mode allows you to test all of the gauges, cluster lights, etc but more useful, it displays any DTCs, battery voltage and a number of other things.
To enter test mode:
Key OUT of the ignition
Press and hold the OK button on the steering wheel
Insert key in ignition
Turn key to RUN (but do not start the vehicle) After a few seconds the dash display will go black with the word TEST shown
Release the OK button while TEST is displayed
Use the up and down buttons to navigate through the options
Some of the options have additional information if you press the left or right buttons Note: if you do go left or right, you cannot go up or down until you return to the original menu option
You can start the vehicle while in test mode and you can see RPM, speed, etc.
To exit test mode, shut off the ignition and turn it back on.
Owners of other models of Escape, please try to get into test mode on your vehicle and report back if this procedure works or how to do it if this doesn't work.
