Hi all, just purchased my fourth F350 (2006 6.0 Diesel) and the salesman when going to check the mileage for me did something (i believe withou the key as the truck was unlocked and the mileage reading had shut off) that made the message center run through what i think is the test mode. I did not think to have him do this again at the time, but when i picked up the truck I asked him to do it again and he was not able to repeat it. He tried several times. After I took possession of it, i began to try myself and then started searching the net, called the ford dealer, and my local mechanic. I have read tons of posts, seen videos, and tried several times to get into test mode. Key in/out, reset button then key to run (not start), info and reset with and without key and or run position. i have tried every combination I can think of and cannot get into test mode. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the reply. I had viewed that link earlier this evening. I have tried literally every combination of buttons and key position I can think of and cannot get it into test mode. For some reason, even the salesman was not able to get it this morning when I picked it up.
You have to hold the Setup and Reset buttons at the same time, then turn key to on - you will see TEST and as soon as you do, let off the buttons and then start the truck - press reset to cycle thru all the options...
This is driving me crazy! I have tried what you recommended, along with every combination of buttons (each individually + reset & info together, etc) along with key out, key in, key in run position and still cannot get it to test mode. I know for a fact the salesman did not have a key when he did this. The truck was open, the mileage had turned off and I asked him for it again and whatever combo he pressed sent it into the test mode. He was not able to repeat it when I picked up the truck.
