The First Totally Useless Feature

Well, as the title states, I've found the first (for me) totally useless feature of my truck. It's not the upfitters even though I haven't a clue how to hook them up to anything. Not the "moon roof" that's unusable for 11-1/2 months here on the 30th parallel. It does serve as a nice convection heater though. Not the plethora of auxiliary lighting: puddle lamps, side-shooting mirror lamps, bed lamps, ect (those are actually handy). Not the FX4 package. No friends, it is the sunglass holder. I put a set of the metal frame Ray Bans in there the other day and when I retrieved them it was like taking them out of the oven. WTH? I guess I should have been able to predict the outcome of placing something 2" away from 1/4 acre of shiny black aluminum in the Florida sun. I thought right then and there, this feature is totally unsuitable for anything. You cant safely store anything in there. Receipts? Ever hear of spontaneous combustion? Ammunition? Yeah, go ahead with that. If someone knows of a use for it I will stand corrected. After 7 months and 18k miles I found something I cant use on this truck. Not too shabby.

^Breakfast taco warmer for Texas folks. I put a pair of safety glasses in my and didn't notice that they got hot. I'll have to try it and see what happens, it won't take but an hour or less with the 110 heat index we've been having for the past week.

I'm going to take this one off the table before one of you quick witted fellows beats me to it. In this case, it is not the driver. There.

I have a pair of glasses that lives in the sunglasses holder. I love it. And I've never experienced them getting warm in there.

Extra pair of Costas and a microfiber cloth. Works great. Haven't noticed the plastic frames getting too warm......yet.

Methinks the difference may be Mr AK (Alaska) is a little further from the equator than we at down here in the sunshine state.

Turns out buying a black truck in Florida has consequences.

I wish they would bring back the old deep fried cherry pies. Those were the best!

You stated that there isn't a good use. I find it wonderful. We are getting 19 hours a day of sunshine right now. And I was in 85 degree heat up north when we had 20.5 hours of sunshine just a couple weeks ago and the glasses were stored safely and stayed cool. Just because you live in life sucking heat doesn't make the feature useless to the rest of us.

LOL... Life-sucking heat and a black truck. I'm double screwed.
