Suspension seats?

I'm kicking around the idea of some suspension seats for four-wheeling. Anybody have them? Pros/cons? I currently have a bench seat in my '79 F150.

Are they noticeably more comfortable when wheeling?

Does the "security" of the side bolstering outweigh the convenience of sliding in/out of the vehicle during daily driving?

Do ordinary three-point seat belts work with these?

Is it worth it to get reclining seats in a standard cab?

Any preferred brands/vendors?

Thanks!

I have a set of Baja SS - Suspension Fixed Back - Corbeau Racing Seats in my Bronco rail buggy. I bought the Baja adapters and then the low profile mount on a flat surface rail sliders.

VERY comfortable for sure. You have to get into and out of these, no just slide in out like a bench. The side bolsters keeps your tail in the seat. They have seamed cut outs for the waist belts and the shoulder belts. Y to 2 shoulders, even a cut for the 5th point.

Fixed back if you are good with the angle, get reclinable if you need to get a better adjustable viewing angle. With fixed back it is what it is and you have to re-address the fixed seat mounting.

Also they have then for Ford trucks. Ford F100-F350 (OEM Bench) 73-82 Seat Bracket - Corbeau Racing Seats

These for a 78/79 Bronco should work to you get buckets in you truck.

Thanks! Those look way more comfortable than your rear seats.

Nice rig!

Yea the back seat if for the mother in law and then I drive fast over bumpy roads. lol

Those seats are very very comfortable in that application. I am sure they would be the same in a truck, but an adjustable back might be in order.

It is fun, I call it my adult version of a "side by side".

73 Bronco chassis, 85 Mustang 302 with a lunati cam, had 33's went to 37's, need different gearing to run 38's.

The grandson likes to throw candy from it in parades.

I just ordered a set of corbeau Baja Ultra WIDE seats with all brackets from JBG and I'm waiting for them to show up. I'll add that to my build thread when I get time to install them, so watch for that. After 4 days of hard wheeling last weekend, the SO had enough of the bench...bouncing and sliding around.

I'm hoping they'll work with OEM belts for a while until I can get some proper harnesses.

D-rat, I can't wait to hear about the install and your impressions. I'm getting tired of hanging onto the steering wheel.
