Ford Pivot Storage Box?
I like mine very much as it is a very convenient way to access whatever one chooses to store in there.
Two ways to secure it, one top lid lock with supplied key and a cleat to lock the box to the truck when in the retracted position using your own lock. The plastic is rather flimsy and it would be easy to simply pry the lid open by hand so further securing it under a cover is a good idea.
I am able to use the tie down directly behind the swing box even with the box in the closed position if the item I am securing sits nearly cab high. The swing box is very easy to remove (just swing and lift) if further access to the tie downs is needed.
So far I like the setup very well. Note that I prefer an under the rail toolbox that is rather narrow and have pushed it off to the passenger side for mounting. This leaves room on the drivers side to push a dirt bike all the way forward.
Another angle of the new 6.7...
With the same setup on my old 7.3 short bed (no bed cover however) I could crank the dirt bike's wheel to full stop left, tuck the wheel in the corner, tie down the bike compressing the shocks, and this would allow me to close the tailgate and keep the bikes body right up against the driver side bed rail.
This tucks the bike behind the driver and allows for maximum visibility across the rest of the bed. Also 3 bikes can be mounted in the short bed with the gate closed assuming the tool box is removed (for the last 2 bikes that is).
I am embarrassed to admit that I have not yet mounted my dirt bike in my new 6.7. I am not 100% sure there is room to crank a single dirt bikes wheel to full left stop, and still fit it next to the toolbox to make enough room to close the tailgate. I my need to rework the tool box mounting as the bed cover rails did not allow me to push the toolbox as far to the passenger side as I wanted.
Here is the old 7.3 with tailgate closed and bike mounted as I have described. Having the gate closed is nice to keep items from vibrating out while driving to staging locations on rough roads.
Thankfully everything I put in there is heavy and the additive is in another box.
I like it. Did see a different brand at a different price. Swings out past my spare spare when it is back there (behind the hitch).
Yes, issue with the E-track point. But towing I clip the trailer e-brake to the drivers side anyways.
