I also love my truck stock..of course i did add some minor add ons like nfab steps, tinted windows and weather floor mats.. But i love how the stock 20 in machined wheels look and how the truck looks overall. I will never change the suspension for various reasons.
Added a Helwig big wig adjustable sway bar - ford does not sell with 20" wheels .
May upgrade hitch insert if I can find a deal .
Truck runs , drives , and handles like it should .
One other thing about modifying a truck extensively: cannot get any of the money spent on all those mods back at trade-in time. I have spent over $65k in additions to my truck over the years and now all I can get for it is $13k if I trade it in. Over 200k miles and it is a 2006 model. Of course it runs, starts, and drives beautifully and get to hear the beautiful twin Garretts sound every day -but- I will get murdered financially if I trade it in. So when I order my new SD, there will be no modifying it at all. Learned my lesson.
Prolly just keep my truck and finish with a complete body off restoration and have a nice new Ford F350 to drive. Wish the new diesels were not infested with the hateful emissions crap but oh well. Looks like 6.2 with 4.30 and good to go...
I too agree that Ford absolutely nailed it with the 2017+ SD’s. I did add fog lights and driving lights, and tires and wheels for summer only. If it counts, I also added HDC (for $11.00 and a free software patch!) but that’s a stock option. I have roll up windows, manual seats, and no power anything on my stripper XL and couldn’t be happier. And the 6.2 is the best V8 I’ve ever driven, all things considered. Had a few trucks, none even come close to this one.
