What tires size??????
Hey fellow Fordaholics!!!!! I just bought some new (used) rims for my 76. I'm having trouble figuring out what size tire to run. They are 15x8 1/2 wide. What's on it now is a 8" wide rim with a 225 75 on it. It looks way to narrow for the rim width. I would love to see some suggestions before I spend the $$$. I'm kind of a visual kinda guy. I think right now it's 29.3". Yes I'd like to stay pretty close to 30" tall tire. I forgot to mention that my truck is 2wd. If that makes a difference. I'm thinking of a 265 70 r15. It's about 30" tall and 10.4" wide. I just want to make sure the tire is wide enough for my rims (8 1/2 " wide)!!!!!!

Yes, you can use your new Wheels with 265 tires. I use Summitracing for reference and they say 7.0"-9.0" Wheels for 265/70-15 tires. You can also use 30x9.50-15 but then your Wheels are in the upper limit (6.50"-8.50")
