You need to hit it with some heat. Or, put the castle nut back on it and try and hit that, though I doubt you'll have enough room to really swing it. Can also try hitting the the section just below the threads... if you smack that really hard, you'll probably shock it and it will pop right out.
Heat and brute force... GL!
Oh, a pickle fork might work to put some leverage down on it while you hit it from the top or side... not sure if there is going to be one wide enough... something to consider though.
Ball joint press (and some heat with Kroil if needed). Rent the large kit if you don't have one already (or buy it). Thor says, also buy a larger Hammer!
Well it currently has a fork driven into it with a lot of pressure. I had to run the boy to the dentist so it is sitting there for about a couple of hours under pressure. When I get home, if it still hasn't broken loose I'll heat it up with the propane torch, don't want to put the oxyacetylene on it just yet, hoping the lower heat will do it, if not I'll break out the big boy.
Ok, it is out. Heated it up with a propane torch then hammered the crap out of it on top. Not concerned about the threads as a new one will be going on shortly.
Ok, old ball joints are out, new ones are in now I just have to do the inner and outer axle seals. I've been having difficulty getting the gear assembly out. I've tried tapping it with a hammer, using a small pry bar to break it free. I've loosened up the caps so they aren't holding it in any more. Any suggestions?
