I will definitely do that hopefully the fuel pump fixes it I think it will. Also I've been using torque pro works pretty good

ok I've taken some time to calm down and think sorry about getting short today was just a long day with changing the fuel pump and still no fix. So tomorrow morning I'm going to try and get the cap off the upper fuel bowl after warming the truck which hopefully it starts I know it says to watch for bubbles got that however what does it mean if there is bubbles? also should the fuel be spraying into the bowl with a good amount of pressure? Also if I do have good pressure. I wanted to remove fuel filters for a few minutes to see if it runs better. If it does would that mean that my filters are the problem also what could happen if anything if I do remove filters momentarily? Thanks for all the help guys

Yes when I installed the pump I completely removed the filter housing from the frame and removed the filter and installed the new pump put the filter back in and placed it back on the frame

Still need a PSI reading on fuel at the upper port to rule out a cracked pickup tube or other problem. Once we get a good read on fuel pressure you can move on to the next item.

I'm going to rent the fuel pressure tester hopefully Monday and I'll update you on what my pressure is. I hope I don't have to drive it to get a proper reading because I don't think it will run long enough to drive at this point. What is the procedure I need to do to get a good reading on the fuel pressure gauge?

Just let us know what you see at idle, you can have someone bring the RPM's up when you do this. Do you have someone else with a 6.0L you know?

Ok guys I got a bit of an UPDATE sorry it took so long to get back I ordered some brand new motorcraft fuel filters and they just arrived today so I'm going to get the fuel pressure tester tonight when I go into town and I'm going to check that tomorrow but I did some tinkering around what I did was first took the old filter out on the top and turned the key on and watched the fuel flow in and there was a ton of bubbles like soppy dish water bowl filled up fast though. Also I cranked the motor over to watch for bubbles from the motor side and there was. I watched the fuel in the bowl and it slowly drained back out down to nothing. Now correct me if I'm wrong but that's not normal right?

Bubbles in the fuel from the pump or from the engine are not good.

The difficulty in installing and removing the primary fuel filter cap sounds like the cap threads are messed up. You may be getting air in that way. Bubbles from the engine side means an injector problem or problems.

Not sure if it has been asked before, but what is the fuel tank level?
