DEF used

How much DEF do you use?I pull the FW and I burn about 3 gal for 1100 mile.I think that I use less on the old 2011 F350.

I got the 500 mile DEF warning on a trip this past weekend. I drive mixed (commute, highway, towing 9k# travel trailer). I had about 4500 miles on it when the light came on. Not sure on how much this equates to in terms of gallons, but I dumped a 2.5 gal jug in and am now just over 1/2 tank.

I can tell ya one thing, it goes about 3X faster when pulling heavy. My first 1000 miles (break-in/empty) I still showed a full tank. My next 800 miles of towing heavy, gauge was on Empty. So I got the warning light on at about 1650 miles total.

Pulling heaving loads Def (pun intended!) eats up a lot of DEF. I found it on my road trip at a Virginia Pilot/Flying-J; (pump dispensed) for only.... $1.89/gal.

Sitting at 5,500 miles of mixed use but no super heavy towing. 3/8's of a tank left.

At 3/4's of a tank at 2500 miles. 225 miles of towing a trailer and a VW Golf and another 225 miles of towing just the trailer. Otherwise, just city/hwy driving.

Just towed 6000 lbs 1000 miles, def was full when I left it is now at 93% so used very little, I mostly had active regens. I guess that means a 6000lb trailer is the same as empty.
