DEF mileage

Just wondering how long the DEF is supposed to last?
i'm pretty impressed with how long this tank is lasting me so far. 3500 miles and I'm still at a half a tank.
i know these trucks go through more DEF when they tow. So, how long will a tank of DEF go when towing consistently and when not towing?
i almost want to tap on the gauge to see if it's actually working.

It's supposed to be about 3/4 of the tank every 5000 miles or 8000 Km. But yes, towing means more DEF usage for sure, as it will default to DEF instead of using more fuel to burn off the emissions.

I have only gone 3600 Km on my first tank of DEF. so far, I am at a bit more than 3/4 full, but I have done no towing so far. I think Soring is a good 2 months away, which means so is towing season.

I'm at about 8,000 miles with a fair amount of towing. I have the service plan that provides oil changes every 5,000 miles and they fill the DEF then also. It looks to me like I will never need DEF at less than 5,000 miles.

3800 miles and it took 4 gallons to fill it. It has been used to tow mostly.

My dually had its tank refilled at 5,000 miles. It had less than 25% remaining, took about 5.5 gallons to fill it.

My experience is that these new trucks *seem* to consume about the same as the previous generation, until you realize the old trucks had 5 gallon tanks and the new trucks are 7.4 gallons.

I'm at 2,900 miles and still have 3/4 of a tank left. No towing, mostly 10 to 20 mile trips around town, 3-4 100 mile trips.

Regens do seem frequent, but short. Mileage takes a **** during them.
