BIG PROBLEM !!!
I have one GP tip blown off and in the chamber, makes an awful clanking noise like it messed up the injector.
Anyone know how to get the tip out of the chamber without pulling the head???
Thanks,
Magic
I thought so.............. I finally took off the injectors, glow plugs and blew high pressure air through all the holes I found, I even plugged a huge workshop vacuum on the holes and sucked up everything that would come out. Put everything back together and started it up, no smoke, runs good, but a new, very slight, ticking moise like a valve clicking, could it be a piece of the GP is stuck in there?
Think it would hurt if I left it that way??

Had the same thing happen to me a while back on an 86 Diesel. I friend of mine who was a mechanic for a local dealearship got it out for me. All he needed was a quart of transmission fluid. This is what he did.
- Removed the air cleaner to expose the intake manifold
- Reved the engine high and low while slowly pouring in the transmission fluid.
- I then heard the glowplug tip moving in the cylinder.
- The glowplug tip then got shot out the exhaust valve.
Problem gone!!! To my surprise, it worked. I wish I had spoken to him before I had pulled off the head from the other side. I had broken 2 glow plugs. One on each side.
